About FunCamps
At Funcamps, we aim to provide our campers with a high quality camping and recreational experience that leave life-long impressions. We are a program that encourages positive self-esteem and healthy relationships. During this 3 day retreat, our youth will be engaged in activities that encourage participation, trust building, critical thinking, and decision making. The natural setting of Darrell’s Island will provide a culmination of teachable moments.
Our goal is to provide a therapeutic outlet for our at risk teenage males. We recognize that through fun, you can target a vast amount of societal issues that our young males face today. It is our vision to reach the marginalized pockets of our community, and reach boys who show increased aggression, depression, attention seeking behaviors, and withdrawal.
Through our “Fun Camps” we want to boost the drive in our campers by exposing them to games and activities that help with respect, courage, and teamwork.
This is a 3 day camping retreat like no other!
